- Conversation History: Text conversations with Sol, emotional check-ins, journal entries, and reflections.
- Voice Recordings (Microphone Access):
When you use voice features to talk with Sol, we collect audio recordings so that we can:
- Convert your speech to text using our AI provider.
- Generate Sol's personalized responses.
Voice recordings are processed for these purposes and then handled as follows:
- Audio is processed during or shortly after your session and not stored permanently.
- Transcriptions of your speech may be retained as part of your conversation history.
- Challenge and Wellness Data: Challenge completions, reflections, and any photos you choose to upload; mood tracking, meditation sessions, Presente Score, progress insights, and emotional journey patterns.
- Usage Data: App interactions, features used, session duration, and in-app behavior.
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, app version, and similar technical identifiers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Enable personalized conversations with Sol tailored to your needs.
- Provide emotional support, meditation guidance, and mental wellness tools.
- Remember context from previous conversations to create continuity.
- Track your emotional journey and provide insights and trends.
- Process voice input for natural, hands-free conversations.
- Send gentle reminders and notifications (with your permission).
- Improve Sol's responses, app performance, and overall user experience.
- Respond to support requests and communications.
- Maintain security, prevent misuse, and protect users' safety.
3. Third-Party Services and Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Your conversations with Sol are private and are used only to provide and improve Presente.
We use the following third-party services:
- Firebase (Google): Used for authentication, secure data storage, and cloud infrastructure. Firebase may store your account information, conversation history, and app data.
- OpenAI: Used to process and generate AI-based responses and transcriptions:
- Your messages and voice recordings (or their transcriptions) are sent to OpenAI's APIs to generate Sol's responses.
- We configure OpenAI so that your data is not used to train their models.
- Voice audio is processed for transcription and then discarded; text transcriptions may be retained as part of your conversation history.
- Expo and related tooling: Used as the app development framework and infrastructure for delivering and updating Presente.
We may also share limited information in these circumstances:
- Legal Requirements: When required to comply with laws, regulations, legal processes, or enforceable government requests, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, where your information may be transferred as part of the transaction, subject to continued protections.
We will never share your mental health data, conversations, or personal information with advertisers or data brokers for marketing purposes.
4. Data Retention
- Active account data: Retained while your account remains active.
- Conversation history with Sol: Stored to maintain context and continuity; you can delete conversations at any time.
- Voice recordings: Processed in real time for transcription and response generation and not stored permanently; text transcriptions may be retained as part of your conversation history.
- Wellness data: Retained to track your progress; you can delete this data at any time.
- Analytics data: Retained in anonymized or aggregated form for up to 24 months to improve the service.
5. Your Rights and Choices
You have control over your data and can exercise the following rights:
- Right to Access: Request a copy of your personal data, including conversation history and wellness data.
- Right to Correction: Update or correct your information directly in the app where possible.
- Right to Delete: Delete your account and associated data. This typically includes:
- Conversation history with Sol.
- Voice transcriptions.
- Challenge completions and uploaded photos.
- Wellness data and Presente Score.
- Account information.
- Right to Data Portability: Request your conversation history and wellness data in a machine-readable format (e.g., JSON or CSV).
- Right to Opt-Out: Disable notifications, voice features, or certain data collection features at any time in the app or device settings.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: Revoke microphone access or other permissions through your device settings.

6. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit, secure servers, and access controls, to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
Presente is intended for users 13 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has used the App, please contact us.
8. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. These countries may have different data protection laws than your country of residence. We take steps to ensure that your data remains protected in accordance with applicable laws.
9. Microphone Usage – Specific Examples
Presente requests microphone access for optional features such as:
- Voice conversations with Sol: Speak naturally instead of typing.
- Guided practices: Certain exercises may listen to your breathing or short responses (if enabled).
- Challenge reflections: Record voice notes instead of typing written reflections.
- Emotional check-ins: Express your feelings verbally during check-ins.
You can always choose to type instead of using voice. Microphone access is optional and can be disabled in your device settings at any time.
10. Third-Party Links
The App and our website may contain links to third-party websites or services (including crisis resource directories such as findahelpline.com). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties. Please review their privacy policies before providing any information.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you via email or in-app notification and update the "last updated" date at the top of the policy.
